Summer Fling Swing 2012 - Penrith, Western Sydney

EVENT: Summer Fling Swing Workshop & Social 2012 (SFSWS2012)

TIMES and COSTS:

GROUP A – THE WORKS : $90pp
Arrive for Swing workshop and enrolment at 10:45am
11am – 5pm : Lindy Hop Basics, includes 1 hour catered break between 2pm –3pm
Doors close at 11:15am there will be no entry until Charleston Workshop at 5:15pm
1st session 3 hours I Catered break 1 hour I 2nd Session 2 hours I Charleston I Dance Party

GROUP B – THE CHARLESTON : $10pp
5:30pm – 6:45pm : Solo Charleston hour and refresher, 
Arrive for Charleston workshop and enrolment at 5:15pm
NB: If booking for the works the Charleston hour is included in the price. However, if staying for Dance Party please add $15pp to the price. 

GROUP C – THE DANCE PARTY : $15pp
For general admission doors open at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome for this part of the evening no need to book just pay at the door. Dance Party will be held at Penrith RSL in the Hornseywood Hall located in the towers function centre on Level 2.

7pm – 8pm : Break – time to refresh or grab dinner
8pm – midnight : live band Vinnie and the Moonlighters

B) Solo Charleston from 5:30pm (1hr 15mins) - $10pp 
(free if doing the Swing Workshop, if staying for dance party please add $15pp)

SOCIAL JAM SESSION: During the evening at approximately 9pm we will have a mini-dance jam to encourage all those persons that attended our workshops during the day to show off all their mooves n grooves. Medals will be awarded to persons that demonstrate fun, style, energy, technique and can last 1 song. Yes you must apply to enter – just tell us you will be participating. Remember it’s all for FUN!

Notes: It is advisable that you pre-arrange a dance partner for the swing workshop, so that you are not disappointed.

Day 2

DATE: Sunday, 22nd January 2012
LOCATION: Warragamba Dam
ADDRESS: FARNSWORTH AVENUE, Warragamba
TIME: park opens from 7am we are going to try and be there by 10am. Park closes about Sunset

PICNIC AREA DETAILS: Controlled by Wollondilly Shire Council. Please no pets and is children friendly with playground available. Picnic Area is known as Boomerang Picnic Area because of boomerang like shape is close to a sports oval, tennis courts, and municipal swimming pool.
There are picnic tables and benches, free electric BBQs and hot water, shelter areas, children's playground and space for older kids to play, and well maintained toilet blocks (including for the disabled). 
Picnic supplies are available in the main street (cafes, delis, takeaways) and there is a licensed club on 18th Street. 
There is a Visitor's Information Centre within the actual Warragamba Dam compounds that exhibits the dam and its history.

HOW TO GET THERE:
From Sydney: Head for Parramatta then take the Western Motorway to Penrith; at Penrith turn left at the interchange into Mulgoa Road towards Wallacia; at Wallacia turn right into Silverdale Road, then follow the sign on the right at Farnsworth Avenue to Warragamba. 
From Southern suburbs: Head for Liverpool, then turn right just past Warwick Farm on the Cumberland Highway towards Cabramatta; turn left at Cabramatta Road towards Bonyrigg and continue along Elizabeth Drive to The Northern Road where you turn left then right at Park Road to Wallacia; at Wallacia turn right into Silverdale Road, then follow the sign on the right at Farnsworth Avenue to Warragamba. 
From Wollongong, South and Picton: Head for Picton (turnoff on the F5 Freeway inland); in Picton turn south in the main street, then right just before the overhead railway bridge towards Mowbray Park; at Mowbray Park turn right towards The Oaks then follow Silverdale Road north to Warragamba.
