Let’s Moove n Groove rock n roll dancers were once again supporting another fantastic fundraiser in cooperation with Castle Hill RSL for the local Tallowood Special Needs School. The event is held next door to Castle Hill Bowling Club where we hold regular weekly Rock n Roll dance classes every Thursday night and beginner courses every 5 weeks on Thursday night.
The photos provide a glimpse of the amazing colours, bright and sunny day and fun times that were shared on the day amongst friends and family. We hope you will join us soon and share some of the Rock n Roll spirit that will provide you with lots of joy in your life.
Many thanks to all the moovers n groovers that took some time out of their weekend to support this special event, including those that came along to hand out flyers, provided moral support and DANCED DANCED DANCED. You all rock and are greatly appreciated.
Fantastic weather, fantastic people, great attractions, stalls and fantastic food could only mean one fantastic day out at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School and Parish’s 50th Anniversary at Mt Pritchard on Sunday, 5th June 2011!
Many thanks to the wonderful supporters of LMNG for taking time out to learn the School Days routine and perform in front of a live crowd. Our performers on Sunday, 5th June 2011 included Bernice, David, Emma-Lee, Julie, Armand, Samantha, Aaron, Phil, Angela, Steve, Amanda and Petar. We meet some great people and had the crowd all excited when we gave them the experience of dance with some great ol’ mooves including Elvis Legs, Basic (Ball/Heel) footwork and basic 20s Charleston. You gotta love dancing anywhere, everywhere and all the time!
Thank you to the great role up of LMNG Rock n Rollers that went out to support the Nostalgic Day of the Drags weekend at Eastern Creek http://www.dayofthedrags.net/.
From roller derby girls, to pin-up models, bands including No Brakes and Satellite V Rockabilly, hot rods, rat rods, nostalgic wheels pre-60s, there was something for everyone to enjoy! Even the bull! We all definitely enjoyed a fabulous day and evening out together.
What an awesome exhibition and a privilege for all of us to have a look at the amazing display of Elvis artefact’s and memorabilia. Many thanks to Greg Page (ex-Yellow Wiggle) for his generosity and kindness in allowing part of his collection to go on display. Thanks to Stockland Baulkham Hills and all the other people and organisations for ensuring the success of such a wonderful and historic event. The display will still be available for viewing over the Easter long weekend along with plenty of entertainment! It is our high recommendation that you take some time out to have a look and be apart of the experience! They are raising money for the Salvation Army and are only asking for a kind $2 donation per person to go through the display. Elvis: “His Treasures, His Story Exhibition at Stockland Baulkham Hills is on for 3 weeks with the last day being 29th April 2011.
Many thanks must go to our Rock n Roll dancers who always find some time to support these community events and demonstrations. We appreciate your time and value your commitment to our cause in keeping Rock n Roll dancing alive for generations to experience and enjoy! Rock n Roll dancing is truly so much fun, as it is always more than the dancing – it is all about the people that share the dancing, the music, the culture, the era and much more.
St Mary’s Festival Rock n Roll Demo & Dance Lessons
We were invited to attend the St Mary’s Spring Festival for 2010 along with the Vintage FM crew and asked to demonstrate the ever popular 50s/60s Rock n Roll dance. Whilst we were there we conducted a mini rock n roll dance class. This dance class allowed those in the crowd to participate and get a feel for the fun and joy of Rock n Roll dancing. As a token of appreciation for participants we offered a complimentary 2 for 1 pass to pay Week 1 and receive Week 2 free of any of LMNG’s Rock n Roll dancing beginner courses. A quick moment to thank all our regulars who came out and spared a moment to share in this full day from 9am to 4pm must be shared. Without the passion and love for Rock n Roll dancing from our regular and loyal students, then Rock n Roll would just become a thing of the past. But here we are living Rock n Roll every day and every week. Remember Rock n Roll dancing is more than just dancing – we go to so many places, meet so many fabulous people and make friends for life. Rock n Roll dancing is a community and a culture and a dream! We must also thank Vintage FM 87.6 where “old is good” for allowing us the opportunity to be present and supporting the day with their outdoor broadcasts and the PT Cruiser that provided us with much needed 50s/60s music www.vintagefm.com.au.
