ImageOn Saturday, 30th July 2011 at Rydalmere Bowling Club the team at Let's Moove n Groove Dance & DJ together with all the Moovers N Groovers held their 2nd Annual 50s/60s Winter Wonderland Ball. Oh what a night! From diamonte table scatters, balloons, tall glass vases and silver branch sprays to set the scene the night was surely glitz up and dazzled from the start.

The entertainment line up was impressive with Petar our resident music player setting the mood from early on and Steven Head rocking the night with his brilliant ELVIS impersonation during dinner and all the guest's were surely entertained with the interactive performance. Then the night hit its peak once the band, namely "The Fabulous Rhythm Cats" commenced playing all the great ol' hits from the past including Blue Suede Shoes by Carl Perkins, Jail House Rock by Elvis Presley and many more fabulous rock hits to keep all the dancers grooving all night long.

Well, we packed our bags and headed up for a weekend at Port Macquarie to visit Wintersun for the 1st time. On the Saturday apart from a little hick up with the accommodation that resulted in a nicer room, we set foot to visit the markets and take a stroll around to inspect the hot hot hot nostalgic vehicles on display and listen to some of the fantastic street bands. The markets had quite a bit on offer from bands and entertainment to wonderful stall holders who had some of their best stuff up for sale. It was great to see Leslie Shoes up there because we couldn't resist and picked up a pair of new shoes each!

ImageA brilliant weekend that saw a coach load of people come together to enjoy what ended up being a fun filled weekend packed with games, activities, prizes, awards, dancing, drinking, eating and just being merry.

The good wholesome fun was made even more enjoyable with the departure theme being Hats and/or Wigs. We were blessed with some Rock n Rollers from the Castle Hill area that took great care and plenty of attention to detail to utilise the skills and strengths of those in the group to come up with The Teapotters…see if you can spot them in the photos (photos coming soon)! From Sparkling Hats to Pink Sparkling Hair, TeaPotter labels and branded clothing what a great bunch to go to extraordinary efforts. Even our after pyjama party saw a couple of jail breakers (you know who you are) seek refuge with us…and that is about the only thing we can say about that! For your continued reading pleasure some details are left to the memory of those that attended.

Thank you to everyone including Penrith RSL, Vinnie and the Moonlighters, Vintage FM 87.6, the team at LMNG and all the supporters and attendees for our Summer Fling Swing weekend held in January 2011. The Saturday was a huge day that incorporated 6 hours of Swing Tuition and a dance party till midnight with Vinnie and the Moonlighters http://vatm.com.au and our very own DJ Pete. The Sunday was a fantastic family day that encouraged family and friends to get together at our picnic. We thank Vintage FM 87.6 where “old is good” for coming along, supporting the day and our event with outdoor broadcasts and the PT Cruiser that provided us with much needed 50s/60s music www.vintagefm.com.au.

So Halloween has come and gone. With so many people going to great lenghts it sure made our task of finding a winner for the prizes really difficult. The staff at Rydalmere Bowling Club were great and DJ Pete rocked the night out with a few favourites.

On Sunday, 31st October 2010 we celebrated Halloween. Our 1st Annual Barefoot Rock n Lawn Bowls Social and Dance was a success with many participating in this years theme of “scary dress”.
